Welcome to Parasha Ha’Azinu /Listen, this week’s Torah portion.
“Hear, oh heavens, as I speak!
Listen, earth, to the words from my mouth!
May my teaching fall like rain.
May my speech condense like dew,
like light rain on blades of grass,
or showers on growing plants.
“For I will proclaim the name of YAHUVEH.
Come, declare the greatness of our ELOHIM!
The Rock! His work is perfect,
for all his ways are just.
A trustworthy ELOHIM who does no wrong,
he is righteous and straight.
“He is not corrupt; the defect is in his children,
a crooked and perverted generation.
You foolish people, so lacking in wisdom,
is this how you repay YAHUVEH?
He is your father, who made you his!
It was he who formed and prepared you!
“Remember how the old days were;
think of the years through all the ages.
Ask your father — he will tell you;
your leaders too — they will inform you.
“When ‘Elyon gave each nation its heritage,
when he divided the human race,
he assigned the boundaries of peoples
according to Isra’el’s population;
but YAHUVEH’s share was his own people,
Ya‘akov his allotted heritage.
“He found his people in desert country,
in a howling, wasted wilderness.
He protected him and cared for him,
guarded him like the pupil of his eye,
like an eagle that stirs up her nest,
hovers over her young,
spreads out her wings, takes them
and carries them as she flies.
“YAHUVEH alone led his people;
no alien god was with him.
He made them ride on the heights of the earth.
They ate the produce of the fields.
He had them suck honey from the rocks
and olive oil from the crags,
curds from the cows and milk from the sheep,
with lamb fat, rams from Bashan and goats,
with the finest wheat flour;
and you drank sparkling wine from the blood of grapes.
“But Yeshurun grew fat and kicked
(you grew fat, thick, gross!).
He abandoned ELOHIM his Maker;
he scorned the Rock, his salvation.
They roused him to jealousy with alien gods,
provoked him with abominations.
They sacrificed to demons, non-gods,
gods that they had never known,
new gods that had come up lately,
which your ancestors had not feared.
You ignored the Rock who fathered you,
you forgot ELOHIM, who gave you birth.
“YAHUVEH saw and was filled with scorn
at his sons’ and daughters’ provocation.
He said, ‘I will hide my face from them
and see what will become of them;
for they are a perverse generation,
They aroused my jealousy with a non-god
and provoked me with their vanities;
I will arouse their jealousy with a non-people
and provoke them with a vile nation.
“‘For my anger has been fired up.
It burns to the depths of Sh’ol,
devouring the earth and its crops,
kindling the very roots of the hills.
I will heap disasters on them
and use up all my arrows against them.
“‘Fatigued by hunger, they will be
consumed by fever and bitter defeat;
I will send them the fangs of wild beasts,
and the poison of reptiles crawling in the dust.
Outside, the sword makes parents childless;
inside, there is panic,
as young men and girls alike are slain,
sucklings and graybeards together.
“‘I considered putting an end to them,
erasing their memory from the human race;
but I feared the insolence of their enemy,
feared that their foes would mistakenly think,
“We ourselves accomplished this;
YAHUVEH had nothing to do with it.”
“‘They are a nation without common sense,
utterly lacking in discernment.
If they were wise they could figure it out
and understand their destiny.
After all, how can one chase a thousand
and two put ten thousand to rout,
unless their Rock sells them to their enemies,
unless YAHUVEH hands them over?
For our enemies have no rock like our Rock —
even they can see that!
“‘Rather, their vine is from the vine of S’dom,
from the fields of ‘Amora —
their grapes are poisonous,
their clusters are bitter;
their wine is snake poison,
the cruel venom of vipers.
“‘Isn’t this hidden with me,
sealed in my storehouses?
Vengeance and payback are mine
for the time when their foot slips;
for the day of their calamity is coming soon,
their doom is rushing upon them.’
“Yes, YAHUVEH will judge his people,
taking pity on his servants,
when he sees that their strength is gone,
that no one is left, slave or free.
Then he will ask, ‘Where are their gods,
the rock in whom they trusted?
Who ate the fat of their sacrifices
and drank the wine of their drink offering?
Let him get up and help you,
let him protect you!
See now that I, yes, I, am he;
and there is no god beside me.
I put to death, and I make alive;
I wound, and I heal;
no one saves anyone from my hand!
“‘For I lift up my hand to heaven and swear,
“As surely as I am alive forever,
if I sharpen my flashing sword
and set my hand to judgment,
I will render vengeance to my foes,
repay those who hate me.
I will make my arrows drunk with blood,
my sword will devour flesh —
the blood of the slain and the captives,
flesh from the wild-haired heads of the enemy.”’
“Sing out, you nations, about his people!
For he will avenge the blood of his servants.
He will render vengeance to his adversaries
and make atonement for the land of his people.”
(vii) 44 Moshe came and proclaimed all the words of this song in the hearing of the people and of Hoshea the son of Nun.
45 When he had finished speaking all these words to all Isra’el, 46 he said to them, “Take to heart all the words of my testimony against you today, so that you can use them in charging your children to be careful to obey all the words of this Torah. 47 For this is not a trivial matter for you; on the contrary, it is your life! Through it you will live long in the land you are crossing the Yarden to possess.”
(Maftir) 48 That same day YAHUVEH said to Moshe, 49 “Go up into the ‘Avarim Range, to Mount N’vo, in the land of Mo’av across from Yericho; and look out over the land of Kena‘an, which I am giving the people of Isra’el as a possession. 50 On the mountain you are ascending you will die and be gathered to your people, just as Aharon your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. 51 The reason for this is that both of you broke faith with me there among the people of Isra’el at the M’rivat-Kadesh Spring, in the Tzin Desert; you failed to demonstrate my holiness there among the people of Isra’el. 52 So you will see the land from a distance, but you will not enter the land I am giving to the people of Isra’el.”
2 Samuel 22:1–22:51;
22 David said the words of this song to YAHUVEH on the day YAHUVEH delivered him from the power of all his enemies and from the power of Sha’ul. 2 He said:
“YAHUVEH is my Rock, my fortress and deliverer,
the ELOHIM who is my Rock, in whom I find shelter,
my shield, the power that saves me,
my stronghold and my refuge.
My savior, you have saved me from violence.
I call on YAHUVEH, who is worthy of praise;
and I am saved from my enemies.
“For death’s breakers were closing over me,
the floods of B’liya‘al terrified me,
the ropes of Sh’ol were wrapped around me,
the snares of death lay there before me.
In my distress I called to YAHUVEH;
yes, I called to my ELOHIM.
Out of his temple he heard my voice,
and my cry entered his ears.
“Then the earth quaked and shook,
the foundations of heaven trembled.
They were shaken because he was angry.
Smoke arose in his nostrils;
and from his mouth, devouring fire,
with coals blazing from it.
He lowered heaven and came down
with thick darkness under his feet.
He rode on a keruv and flew,
he was seen on the wings of the wind.
He made darkness his canopy around him,
thick clouds in the skies dense with water.
From the brightness before him,
fiery coals flamed out.
“YAHUVEH thundered from heaven,
Ha‘Elyon sounded his voice.
He sent out arrows and scattered them;
with lightning he routed them.
The channels of the sea appeared,
the foundations of the world were exposed
at YAHUVEH’s rebuke,
at the blast of breath from his nostrils.
“He sent from on high, he took me
and pulled me out of deep water;
he rescued me from my powerful enemy,
from those who hated me, for they were stronger than I.
They came against me on my day of calamity,
but YAHUVEH was my support.
“He brought me out to an open place;
he rescued me, because he took pleasure in me.
YAHUVEH rewarded me for my uprightness,
he repaid me because my hands were clean.
“For I have kept the ways of YAHUVEH,
I have not done evil by leaving my ELOHIM;
for all his rulings were before me,
I did not depart from his regulations.
I was pure-hearted toward him
and kept myself from my sin.
“Hence YAHUVEH repaid me for my uprightness,
according to my purity in his view.
With the merciful, you are merciful;
with the champion of purity, you are pure;
with the honest, you are honest;
but with the crooked you are cunning.
People afflicted, you save;
but when your eyes are on the haughty, you humble them.
“For you, YAHUVEH, are my lamp;
YAHUVEH lights up my darkness.
With you I can run through a whole troop of men,
with my ELOHIM I can leap a wall.
“As for ELOHIM, his way is perfect,
the word of YAHUVEH has been tested by fire;
he shields all who take refuge in him.
For who is ELOHIM but YAHUVEH,
and who is a Rock but our ELOHIM?
“ELOHIM is my strength and protection;
he makes my way go straight.
He makes me swift and sure-footed as a deer
and enables me to stand on my high places.
He trains my hands for war
until my arms can bend a bow of bronze;
You give me your shield, which is salvation;
your answers make me great.
You lengthen the steps I can take,
yet my ankles do not turn.
“I pursued my enemies and wiped them out,
without turning back until they were destroyed.
I destroyed them, crushed them; they can’t get up;
they have fallen under my feet.
“For you braced me with strength for the battle
and bent down my adversaries beneath me.
You made my enemies turn their backs in flight,
so that I could destroy those who hate me.
“They looked, but there was no one to help,
even to YAHUVEH, but he didn’t answer.
I pulverized them like dust on the ground,
pounded and stamped on them like mud in the streets.
“You also freed me from the quarrels of my people.
You kept me to be the head of the nations;
a people I did not know now serve me.
Foreigners come cringing to me;
the moment they hear of me, they obey me.
Foreigners lose heart as they stagger from their fortresses.
“YAHUVEH is alive! Blessed is my Rock!
Exalted be ELOHIM, the Rock of my salvation,
the ELOHIM who gives me vengeance
and makes peoples submit to me.
He brings me out from my enemies.
You raise me over those who rebel against me,
you rescue me from violent men.
“So I give thanks to you, YAHUVEH, among the nations;
I sing praises to your name.
He is a tower of salvation for his king;
he displays grace to his anointed,
to David and his descendants forever.”
11 “In that case, I say, isn’t it that ELOHIM has repudiated his people?” Heaven forbid! For I myself am a son of Isra’el, from the seed of Avraham,[a] of the tribe of Binyamin. 2 ELOHIM has not repudiated his people,[b] whom he chose in advance. Or don’t you know what the Tanakh says about Eliyahu? He pleads with ELOHIM against Isra’el, 3 “YAHUVEH, they have killed your prophets and torn down your altars, and I’m the only one left, and now they want to kill me too!”[c] 4 But what is ELOHIM’s answer to him? “I have kept for myself seven thousand men who have not knelt down to Ba‘al.”[d] 5 It’s the same way in the present age: there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 (Now if it is by grace, it is accordingly not based on legalistic works; if it were otherwise, grace would no longer be grace.) 7 What follows is that Isra’el has not attained the goal for which she is striving. The ones chosen have obtained it, but the rest have been made stonelike, 8 just as the Tanakh says,
“ELOHIM has given them a spirit of dullness —
eyes that do not see
and ears that do not hear,
right down to the present day.”[e]
9 And David says,
“Let their dining table become for them
a snare and a trap, a pitfall and a punishment.
Let their eyes be darkened, so that they can’t see,
with their backs bent continually.”[f]
11 “In that case, I say, isn’t it that they have stumbled with the result that they have permanently fallen away?” Heaven forbid! Quite the contrary, it is by means of their stumbling that the deliverance has come to the Gentiles, in order to provoke them to jealousy.[g] 12 Moreover, if their stumbling is bringing riches to the world — that is, if Isra’el’s being placed temporarily in a condition less favored than that of the Gentiles is bringing riches to the latter — how much greater riches will Isra’el in its fullness bring them!
13 However, to those of you who are Gentiles I say this: since I myself am an emissary sent to the Gentiles, I make known the importance of my work 14 in the hope that somehow I may provoke some of my own people to jealousy and save some of them! 15 For if their casting YAHUSHUA aside means reconciliation for the world, what will their accepting him mean? It will be life from the dead!
16 Now if the hallah offered as firstfruits is holy, so is the whole loaf. And if the root is holy, so are the branches. 17 But if some of the branches were broken off, and you — a wild olive — were grafted in among them and have become equal sharers in the rich root of the olive tree, 18 then don’t boast as if you were better than the branches! However, if you do boast, remember that you are not supporting the root, the root is supporting you. 19 So you will say, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.” 20 True, but so what? They were broken off because of their lack of trust. However, you keep your place only because of your trust. So don’t be arrogant; on the contrary, be terrified! 21 For if ELOHIM did not spare the natural branches, he certainly won’t spare you! 22 So take a good look at ELOHIM’s kindness and his severity: on the one hand, severity toward those who fell off; but, on the other hand, ELOHIM’s kindness toward you — provided you maintain yourself in that kindness! Otherwise, you too will be cut off! 23 Moreover, the others, if they do not persist in their lack of trust, will be grafted in; because ELOHIM is able to graft them back in. 24 For if you were cut out of what is by nature a wild olive tree and grafted, contrary to nature, into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these natural branches be grafted back into their own olive tree!
25 For, brothers, I want you to understand this truth which ELOHIM formerly concealed but has now revealed, so that you won’t imagine you know more than you actually do. It is that stoniness, to a degree, has come upon Isra’el, until the Gentile world enters in its fullness; 26 and that it is in this way that all Isra’el will be saved. As the Tanakh says,
“Out of Tziyon will come the Redeemer;
he will turn away ungodliness from Ya‘akov
and this will be my covenant with them, . . .
when I take away their sins.”[h]
28 With respect to the Good News they are hated for your sake. But with respect to being chosen they are loved for the Patriarchs’ sake, 29 for ELOHIM’s free gifts and his calling are irrevocable. 30 Just as you yourselves were disobedient to ELOHIM before but have received mercy now because of Isra’el’s disobedience; 31 so also Isra’el has been disobedient now, so that by your showing them the same mercy that ELOHIM has shown you, they too may now receive ELOHIM’s mercy. 32 For ELOHIM has shut up all mankind together in disobedience, in order that he might show mercy to all.
O the depth of the riches
and the wisdom and knowledge of ELOHIM!
How inscrutable are his judgments!
How unsearchable are his ways!
For, ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord?
Who has been his counselor?’[i]
Or, ‘Who has given him anything
and made him pay it back?’[j]
For from him and through him
and to him are all things.
To him be the glory forever!
This is from Prophecy 105, YAHUVEH said to put this up on all Prophecies from now on: I warned you a long time ago Elisabeth (Elisheva) not to name this Ministry after a man or a woman even before there was a Ministry. I put it in your spirit for none of this has been done by your hand, none of this has come forth from your mouth. It is from the Mouth of YAHUVEH that has given birth. It is from the Mouth of YAHUSHUA your MASHIACH that has given birth. It is from the Mouth of the RUACH ha KODESH your IMMAYAH that has given birth. If it had only been by your hand it would have failed long ago. It is by the SHKHINYAH GLORY’S Wind that blows across this earth, the Holy Wind of Revival, it is not by your breath or it would have failed. (Isaiah 42:8)

Torah Portion: Moses Sang A Song To The People Of Israel
Prophecy 136 The Holy Trinity Needs To Be Comforted Also
So teach them! Teach them even on Shavu’ot. Sing to ME. Sing to the HOLY TRINITY! Do not just enter into prayers and ask questions but sing, praise! Enter into MY Heavenly Courts before MY Throne with reverence, love with worship in the NAME OF YAHUSHUA (Ps 100:4)! Never think you can enter into MY PRESENCE in your own name (Heb 4:14-16). For only will I listen in the NAME OF YAHUSHUA, WHOM some call ‘JESUS CHRIST’ (Acts 4:12). ]
Prophecy 7 Hold On Tight To The Hem of MY Garment
I will answer and deliver you. I do not lie. For you are promised not the crumbs of this world, but the bread of life, the children’s bread of healing, deliverance, prosperity, life abundantly and full of glory. For YAHUSHUA is your Bread of Life and I want to see if you will still praise ME, and hang on to your faith though I don’t answer right away. I am not always a microwave God.
Prophecy 82 Last Call For The Bride of YAHUSHUA!
Can you picture MY Bride standing there before ME in sparkling white, every word that proceeds out of her mouth again is Holy with Praises on her lips for ME, every word full of adoration and love. Now picture that same one standing before ME with curses upon her lips, foul language that comes as though it comes from a sewer. Does not MY Word say out of your heart your mouth does speak? Do not make excuses why you curse. Every word that proceeds out of your mouth, every word that proceeds out of MY Bride’s mouth must be Holy.
Prophecy 51 THE CLARION CALL OF THE 144,000, FEAR NOT MY BELOVED LITTLE ONES, “I AM” RAISING UP A STANDARD AGAINST THE EVIL ONES!
Away with your pretense of worship, I only listen to those that come to me with clean hearts, away from ME with your pretense of praise. The most off key singers that have hearts set to do MY Will, and live their lives in holiness, putting all that YAHUSHUA is, before their own wants, and desires, and needs. This is the highest form of praise music in MY ears. Not your choreographed praise dancers. True dancing in the RUACH ha KODESH is not taught, nor choreographed by anyone, but the RUACH ha KODESH. It is not done simply because you want to dance before YAHUVEH and YAHUSHUA; it is your feet being anointed to do so. No one can teach this. I turn away when I see worldliness in the temples and the churches.
Torah Portion: The Rock and HIS Righteous Judgment
Prophecy 122: You Can’t Tear Down The Gates Of Heaven
Keep drawing near ME. Ask ME to speak to you in the still of the night. Just keep drawing near ME. For NO weapon that has been formed against you is greater than I AM (Is 54:17).
There is NOTHING that I cannot destroy. There’s NO eyes I cannot blind.
There’s NO machine that I cannot destroy. Have faith in ME. Have faith in the legions of Holy Angels that I have posted all around.—MY Precious Bride—Have faith in ME. Do not doubt. Do not doubt MY Love for you. Deafen your ears to those who shout, and say that you do not belong to ME. You’re preaching MY Word. You’re living MY Word. Elisabeth [Elisheva] I give you the Instruction.
All you do—is relay them. You are not the COMMANDER IN CHIEF—I AM! You but relay the orders that I give you. You are not responsible for what people do! You are not responsible when they misunderstand. They are responsible
—to take it to ME and say, “Help me to understand.” I AM GOD ALMIGHTY! I and the FATHER are ONE! I can be in all places—and I AM! You are one woman—and you cannot. So do that what I tell you to do. All of you do that what I tell you to do. I AM the same YAHUSHUA that cursed the fig tree for it refused to produce fruit and it withered and died, before everyone’s eyes. I have not changed: I both bless and I curse.
The enemies want to deafen your ears and they want to say, “‘Jesus Christ’ is only a GOD OF LOVE. I don’t have to worry about keeping the 10 commandments. I refuse to live by those laws. I can live anyway I want and I’m going to Heaven. You’re going to hell—because you think that you can please GOD, because you judge us—we will destroy you.”
They shout again and again and again. [Now I, YAHUVEH, shout:]
Message! Message! Message! To all the world now! You cannot tear down the Gates of Heaven! You cannot knock, I, YAHUVEH & YAHUSHUA
and the RUACH HA KODESH off OUR Thrones! I laugh at you! Oh, you puny men and women! You are but dust—chaff, in the wind, that I can choose to blow away.
Oh, you enemies of AmightyWind Ministry—so many of you—I shake MY Head in disgust for you shall be there—when you cry out and you want an avalanche of rocks to hide you from the Wrath of HE WHO SITS ON THE THRONE and the LAMB OF YAH (Rv 6:16). You only think you know what suffering is. You do not even begin to comprehend. If you are an enemy of this Ministry—that only preaches MY Word and Holiness, that has a Message of John the Baptist, and Elijah [Eliyahu] of Old—you are an enemy of YAHUVEH, of I, YAHUSHUA & MY RUACH HA KODESH!
You who say, “I will destroy this ministry”—no, it is I that shall destroy you. Just as I cursed that fig tree, so too I curse the enemies of AmightyWind Ministry! For this Ministry is not of a man or a woman! This Ministry is made by MY Own Hands. It is only the ANOINTING OF THE PRECIOUS RUACH HA KODESH that draws men and women to ME so their souls can be saved, but I use this Ministry also in a way to destroy the reprobate.
So MY darling ones who consider this Ministry a blessing—for you can search the world over and you’ll not find any like it—I give you these Words of Encouragement. Those who hate you, hate ME. Those who try to destroy you, try to destroy ME. And I and the HEAVENLY FATHER, your ABBA YAHUVEH laugh at the schemes of these puny men and women that are dust—but are [mere] dust—in OUR Eyes. And very, very shortly the enemies shall see it’s you, it’s you, how much I love and it’s them how much I despise.
Prophecy 73 Judgment! Judgment! Judgment!
JUDGMENT, JUDGMENT, JUDGMENT! You who will not receive the shed Blood of YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH. I speak to all those who mock ME. I speak to all those who blaspheme ME. I speak to all those who reject MY Son YAHUSHUA, you who will not receive the shed Blood that was shed for you, then I shall pour blood down your throats. I shall gorge you with your own blood. I shall gorge you for the sins that you have done in America alone.
Because you think there is nothing wrong with murdering a baby while they are yet in the mother’s womb your own babies I shall kill, I shall slay them before you. By the hand of Almighty Living YAHUVEH, I will show you I am a God that is not mocked. Because you have mocked ME for MY mercies very shortly now you will see there is no more mercy. I will not apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah and the other cities besides. I will not apologize to Ninevah, for your sins are even greater still than all of them combined! The stench of your sins reach MY nostrils. How few humble themselves and fall on their face. Oh, if it were not for the Blood of YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH, I would erase you all from the human race.
But I have a few, oh so very few, who I call MY Children and MY treasure, who weep and who wail before ME, who say, “Let not this sin be counted against us.” And just as surely as I spared Noah and his family, just as surely as I spared Lot and his family except one, just as surely I will provide a way of escape, a way to bless, a way to hide MY beloved ones. Go and hide yourselves, MY Children. You had better crawl underneath the shelter of MY Wings; you had better make sure the shed Blood of YAHUSHUA is covering every sin. For MY wrath is mighty, as mighty as MY Name and the Great Tribulation that is to come is not so very far away.
You want to start wars on those who have not instigated wars. You want to trample them underfoot just because you can. I have seen the weapons of man but they cannot compare with the weapons of Heaven. You mock at a movie called ‘The Passion of Christ,’ now you mock yet another movie (The Day After Tomorrow) that tells you ahead of time, for I put it in the mind of a heathen to show you the Judgment that is to come. And your politicians raise up and say, “Don’t listen, this is preposterous, this will not happen” but who are they to say? How do they know where I store up the rain? How do they know where I store up the winds?
Oh, they have there man-made machine they say can control the weather, but I am I and I alone will show what I do to this machine! I will break the very strings of their HAARP ! I will confound those that think themselves wise. For am I not the author of all wisdom and you have created nothing, it is I that am the inventor. I alone am the Creator and I will show you what I do to the weapons of mass destruction, for you shall see destruction from Heaven just as surely as Sodom and Gomorrah and the seven cities did.
So you want to mock ME? Now I will show you what happens when I the Creator mock you. The institution of marriage was created so we would be one. It certainly was never created for same sexes to be one. You even mock the institution of marriage. Hurricanes shall come that are unproportioned, like as never seen before. Tsunami waves shall wash upon the shores, they shall be MY tears. The earth shall quake in waves all around the world at the same time. As your eyes are fixed upon the skies, horror you shall see as satan comes in disguise. For you are on a collision course and you shall reap MY wrath for I am the God YAHUVEH Almighty there is but one.
“Give ear /Ha’Azinu, Oh heavens, and I will speak …”
Last week, Parasha Vayelech concluded with Moses foreseeing that Israel would turn away from their covenant with YAHUVEH, causing HIM to hide HIS face from them. Still, Moses promised that the words of the Torah would not be “forgotten out of the mouths of their descendants.” (Deuteronomy 31:21)
Moses gathered the people together to listen to a shir (song) called Ha’Azinu (Listen). That song would always be a reminder of the consequences of turning from YAHUVEH.
This week’s Torah portion (Parasha), which is called Ha’Azinu, consists primarily of the 70-line song that Moses sang to the people of Israel on the last day of his life.
At the end, YAHUVEH commands Moses to go up to the top of Mount Nebo to catch a glimpse of the Promised Land before being “gathered unto HIS people.”
“Yet you shall see the land before you, though you shall not go there, into the land which I am giving to the children of Israel.”
Moses is allowed to see the land, but not enter in. It is a devastating disappointment and, yet, he ends his public life with a song.
What is the nature of this song? It begins by describing YAHUVEH’s lovingkindness and faithfulness toward Israel, and it ends with a promise of vengeance, redemption, and atonement for YAHUVEH’s land and people.
“Rejoice, O Gentiles, with HIS people; for HE will avenge the blood of HIS servants, and render vengeance to HIS adversaries; HE will provide atonement for HIS land and HiS people.” (Deuteronomy 32:43)
It is not only the people of Israel who will rejoice with this final redemption. The Gentiles will rejoice together with YAHUVEH’s people.
YAHUVEH’s salvation is for all people — of every tongue, tribe, race and ethnic background. All people — Jews and Gentiles — can rejoice together in unity at the goodness of YAHUVEH.
A portion of this song has severe words of rebuke against Israel for infidelity and unfaithfulness to YAHUVEH.
Not only would YAHUVEH “hide HIS face” from HIS people but HE would also render judgment.
“I will heap disasters on them; I will spend MY arrows on them. They shall be wasted with hunger, devoured by pestilence and bitter destruction; I will also send against them the teeth of beasts, with the poison of serpents of the dust.” (Deuteronomy 32:23–24)
Although these rebukes seem quite harsh, they reveal that the discipline of YAHUVEH is for our good and will ultimately end in our final redemption.
Provoking YAHUVEH and HIS People to Jealousy
Moses’ song foresees that the people of Israel will make YAHUVEH jealous with their worship of false gods and idols and that YAHUVEH in turn will provoke HIS people to jealousy with those who are called “not a nation.”
“They have provoked ME to jealousy by what is not GOD; they have moved ME to anger by their foolish idols. But I will provoke them to jealousy by those who are not a nation; I will move them to anger by a foolish nation.” (Deuteronomy 32:21; see also Romans 11:13–15)
This reference to not a nation is in Hebrew loh ami. It is found again in the Book of Hosea:
“I will plant her for myself in the land; I will show MY love to the one I called ‘Not MY loved one.’ I will say to those called ‘Not MY nation,’ (loh ami) ‘You are MY nation’; and they will say, ‘You are MY ELOHIM.’” (Hosea 2:23; see also Romans 9:25)
Who are these people who were once “not a nation” and are now YAHUVEH’s people?
These are the Gentiles who have come to join themselves with the commonwealth of Israel through YAHUSHUA the Jewish Messiah: “Once you were not a nation, but now you are the nation of YAHUVEH; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
(1 Peter 2:10)
These are the very people who YAHUVEH has called to salvation to provoke Israel to jealousy.
“So I ask, did they stumble in order that they might fall? By no means! Rather through their trespass salvation has come to the Gentiles, so as to make Israel jealous.” (Romans 11:11)
What will make the Jewish People jealous of these Gentiles? Isn’t it the other way around? Is it not the Gentiles who are jealous because YAHUVEH has blessed many Jewish people with material prosperity?
These blessings seem to be the cause of at least some of the world’s anti-Semitism.
So when and how will the Jews become provoked to jealousy by Gentile followers of YAHUSHUA?
It will be when they see the true love, joy, fellowship, and peace that these Believers possess in YAHUSHUA, even when the entire material world around them falls apart.
Likewise, it was this ability to sing in the face of apparent tragedy that set Moses apart from the others.
All but a few of his generation had died in the wilderness because of their unbelief. Moses himself was about to die, having never entered the Promised Land. But he still praised YAHUVEH in song — reminding Israel of YAHUVEH’s power, love, and faithfulness.
The Rock and HIS Righteous Judgment
In his song, Moses uses the metaphor of YAHUVEH as a rock — steadfast, strong, immovable and unchanging.
The prayer begins with Deuteronomy 32:4:
“HE is the Rock YAHUSHUA, HIS work is perfect; for all HIS ways are justice, A GOD of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is HE.”
In contrast to all these wondrous qualities of YAHUVEH, the Torah portion describes man as corrupt, perverse, and crooked to the point of being compared to Sodom and Gomorrah.
“For their vine is of the vine of Sodom and of the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter. Their wine is the poison of serpents, and the cruel venom of cobras.” (Deuteronomy 32:32–33)
There is no way to bridge the wide chasm between the corruption of man and the holiness of YAHUVEH except for one — that narrow gate that leads to life is through YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH . HE said, “I am the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father but through ME.” (John 14:6)
In addition to being compared to a rock, Moses also likens YAHUVEH to an eagle — a bird of great strength and vision — who took the children out of Egypt on HIS outstretched wings.
“As an eagle stirs up its nest, hovers over its young, spreading out its wings, taking them up, carrying them on its wings, so YAHUVEH alone led him, and there was no foreign god with HIM.” (Deuteronomy 32:11–12)
Music and Vessels of Praise
Music has been called the universal language of the heart and, therefore, Moses uses the song of Ha’Azinu to complete his life’s mission with a stirring challenge to the people of Israel.
What is Moses’ message? It is that our actions have consequences — for good or for evil — and that our very survival depends upon our faithfulness to YAHUSHUA our Rock.
Music and song have always been an integral part of the Jewish People.
We are all walking vessels or instruments designed to praise YAHUVEH with singing. It is good to remember that the singers and musicians were at times sent out in front of the armies of Israel, and this in itself was enough to bring victory.
Moses’ song has not been forgotten; it has been passed down from dor l’dor /generation to generation.
The Levites sang it each week in the First and Second Temples. Later, after the destruction of the Temples, Jewish children were taught in religious schools to memorize the entire song.
Ha’Azinu reminds us that both YAHUVEH and HIS people suffer pain through betrayal and infidelity, but those who come to YAHUVEH in sincere repentance can receive forgiveness.
Moses, called “friend of YAHUVEH,” died alone and yet not alone, for his very best Friend in the entire universe and remained with him even to the end.
In fact, it was YAHUVEH who buried Moses, and to this day HE alone knows the burial place.
“Hear the word of YAHUVEH, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘HE who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over HIS flock like a shepherd.'” (Jeremiah 31:10)
