PINCHAS -Phinehas / Dark Skinned
Welcome to Parasha PINCHAS -Phinehas / Dark Skinned, this week’s Torah portion.
Numbers 25:10–29:40 (30:1);
1 Peter 3:8–4:19;
Numbers 25:10–29:40 (30:1);
10 YAHUVEH said to Moshe, 11 “Pinchas the son of El‘azar, the son of Aharon the cohen, has deflected my anger from the people of Isra’el by being as zealous as I am, so that I didn’t destroy them in my own zeal. 12 Therefore say, ‘I am giving him my covenant of shalom, 13 making a covenant with him and his descendants after him that the office of cohen will be theirs forever.’ This is because he was zealous on behalf of his ELOHIM and made atonement for the people of Isra’el.”
14 The name of the man from Isra’el who was killed, put to death with the woman from Midyan, was Zimri the son of Salu, leader of one of the clans from the tribe of Shim‘on. 15 The name of the woman from Midyan who was killed was Kozbi the daughter of Tzur, and he was head of the people in one of the clans of Midyan.
16 YAHUVEH said to Moshe, 17 “Treat the Midyanim as enemies and attack them; 18 because they are treating you as enemies by the trickery they used to deceive you in the P‘or incident and in the affair of their sister Kozbi, the daughter of the leader from Midyan, the woman who was killed on the day of the plague in the P‘or incident.” 19 (26:1) After the plague,
26 YAHUVEH said to Moshe and El‘azar, the son of Aharon the cohen, 2 “Take a census of the entire assembly of the people of Isra’el twenty years old and over, by their ancestral clans, all who are subject to military service in Isra’el.” 3 Moshe and El‘azar the cohen spoke with them on the plains of Mo’av by the Yarden across from Yericho, explaining, 4 “Those twenty years old and over who came out of the land of Egypt, as YAHUVEH ordered Moshe and the people of Isra’el.”
(ii) 5 [The census results begin with] Re’uven, the firstborn of Isra’el. The descendants of Re’uven were: of Hanokh, the family of the Hanokhi; of Pallu, the family of the Pallu’i; 6 of Hetzron, the family of the Hetzroni; and of Karmi the family of the Karmi. 7 These were the the families of the Re’uveni; of them were counted 43,730.
8 The sons of Pallu: Eli’av; 9 and the sons of Eli’av: N’mu’el, Datan and Aviram. These are the same Datan and Aviram, men of reputation in the community, who rebelled against Moshe and Aharon in Korach’s group, when they rebelled against YAHUVEH; 10 and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed them up together with Korach when that group died, and the fire consumed 250 men, and they became a warning sign. 11 (However, the sons of Korach did not die.)
12 The descendants of Shim‘on, by their families, were: of N’mu’el, the family of the N’mu’eli; of Yamin, the family of the Yamini; of Yakhin, the family of the Yakhini; 13 of Zerach, the family of the Zarchi; and of Sha’ul, the family of the Sha’uli. 14 These were the families of the Shim‘oni, 22,200.

19 The sons of Y’hudah: First ‘Er and Onan, but ‘Er and Onan died in the land of Kena‘an. 20 The sons of Y’hudah who had descendants were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelani; of Peretz, the family of the Partzi; and of Zerach, the family of the Zarchi. 21 The sons of Peretz were: of Hetzron, the family of the Hetzroni; and of Hamul, the family of the Hamuli. 22 These were the families of Y’hudah, according to those counted of them, 76,500.
23 The descendants of Yissakhar, by their families, were: of Tola, the family of the Tola‘i; of Puvah, the family of the Puni; 24 of Yashuv, the family of the Yashuvi; and of Shimron, the family of the Shimroni. 25 These were the families of Yissakhar, according to those counted of them, 64,300.
26 The descendants of Z’vulun, by their families, were: of Sered, the family of the Sardi; of Elon, the family of the Eloni; and of Yachle’el, the family of the Yachle’eli. 27 These were the families of the Z’vuloni, according to those counted of them, 60,500.
28 The sons of Yosef, by their families, were M’nasheh and Efrayim. 29 The descendants of M’nasheh were: of Makhir, the family of the Makhiri. Makhir was the father of Gil‘ad; of Gil‘ad, the family of the Gil‘adi. 30 These are the descendants of Gil‘ad: of I‘ezer, the family of the I‘ezri; of Helek, the family of the Helki; 31 of Asri’el, the family of the Asri’eli; of Sh’khem, the family of the Shikhmi; 32 of Sh’mida, the family of the Sh’mida‘i; and of Hefer, the family of the Hefri. 33 Tz’lof’chad the son of Hefer had no sons but daughters; the names of the daughters of Tz’lof’chad were Machlah, No‘ah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirtzah. 34 These were the families of M’nasheh; of them were counted 52,700.
35 These are the descendants of Efrayim, by their families: of Shutelach, the family of the Shutalchi; of Bekher, the family of the Bakhri; and of Tachan, the family of the Tachani. 36 These are the descendants of Shutelach: of ‘Eran, the family of the ‘Erani. 37 These were the families of the descendants of Efrayim, according to those of them that were counted, 32,500. These were the descendants of Yosef, by their families.
38 The descendants of Binyamin, by their families were: of Bela, the family of the Bal‘i; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbeli; of Achiram, the family of the Achirami; 39 of Sh’fufam, the family of the Shufami; and of Hufam, the family of the Hufami. 40 The sons of Bela were Ard and Na‘aman; [of Ard,] the family of the Ardi; and of Na‘aman, the family of the Na‘ami. 41 These were the descendants of Binyamin, by their families; of them were counted 45,600.
42 The descendants of Dan, by their families, were: of Shucham, the family of the Shuchami. These are the families of Dan, by their families. 43 All the families of the Shuchami, according to those of them that were counted, were 64,400.
44 The descendants of Asher, by their families: of Yimnah, the family of the Yimnah; of Yishvi, the family of the Yishvi; and of B’ri‘ah, the family of the B’ri‘i. 45 Of the descendants of B’ri‘ah: of Hever, the family of the Hevri; and of Malki’el, the family of the Malki’eli. 46 The name of Asher’s daughter was Serach. 47 These were the families of the descendants of Asher, according to those of them that were counted, 53,400.
48 The descendants of Naftali, by their families: of Yachtze’el, the families of the Yachtze’eli; of Guni, the family of the Guni; 49 of Yetzer, the family of the Yitzri; and of Shillem, the family of the Shillemi. 50 These are the families of Naftali according to their families; those of them that were counted were 45,400.
51 Thus those who were counted of the people of Isra’el numbered 601,730.
(iii) 52 YAHUVEH said to Moshe, 53 “The land is to be parceled out among these as a possession to be inherited, according to the number of names. 54 To those families with more persons you are to give a greater inheritance, and to those with fewer you are to give a smaller inheritance — each family’s inheritance is to be given according to the number counted in it. 55 However, the land is to be awarded by lot. They will inherit according to the names of the tribes of their ancestors, 56 but the inheritance is to be parceled out by lot between the families with more and those with fewer.”
57 Those counted among the Levi, by their families, were: of Gershon, the family of the Gershuni, of K’hat, the family of the K’hati; and of M’rari, the family of the M’rari. 58 These are the families of Levi: the family of the Livni, the family of the Hevroni, the family of the Machli, the family of the Mushi and the family of the Korchi. K’hat was the father of ‘Amram. 59 The name of ‘Amram’s wife was Yokheved the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore to ‘Amram Aharon, Moshe and their sister Miryam. 60 To Aharon were born Nadav, Avihu, El‘azar and Itamar; 61 but Nadav and Avihu died when they offered unauthorized fire before YAHUVEH. 62 Those males one month old or more counted of the Levi were 23,000. These were not included in the census of the people of Isra’el, because no land for inheritance was given to them among the people of Isra’el.
63 These are the ones counted by Moshe and El‘azar the cohen, who took a census of the people of Isra’el in the plains of Mo’av by the Yarden across from Yericho. 64 But there was not a man among them who had also been included in the census of Moshe and Aharon the cohen when they enumerated the people of Isra’el in the Sinai Desert; 65 because YAHUVEH had said of them, “They will surely die in the desert.” So there was not left even one of them, except Kalev the son of Y’funeh and Y’hoshua the son of Nun.
27 Then the daughters of Tz’lof’chad the son of Hefer, the son of Gil‘ad, the son of Machir, the son of M’nasheh, of the families of M’nasheh, the son of Yosef, approached. These were the names of his daughters: Machlah, No‘ah, Hoglah, Milkah and Tirtzah. 2 They stood in front of Moshe, El‘azar the cohen, the leaders and the whole community at the entrance to the tent of meeting and said, 3 “Our father died in the desert. He wasn’t part of the group who assembled themselves to rebel against YAHUVEH in Korach’s group, but he died in his own sin, and he had no sons. 4 Why should the name of our father be eliminated from his family just because he didn’t have a son? Give us property to possess along with the brothers of our father.” 5 Moshe brought their cause before YAHUVEH.
(iv) 6 YAHUVEH answered Moshe, 7 “The daughters of Tz’lof’chad are right in what they say. You must give them property to be inherited along with that of their father’s brothers; have what their father would have inherited pass to them. 8 Moreover, say to the people of Isra’el, ‘If a man dies and does not have a son, you are to have his inheritance pass to his daughter. 9 If he doesn’t have a daughter, give his inheritance to his brothers. 10 If he has no brothers, give his inheritance to his father’s brothers. 11 If his father doesn’t have brothers, give his inheritance to the closest relative in his family, and he will possess it. This will be the standard for judgment to be used by the people of Isra’el, as YAHUVEH ordered Moshe.’”
12 YAHUVEH said to Moshe, “Climb this mountain in the ‘Avarim Range, and look out at the land which I have given the people of Isra’el. 13 After you have seen it, you too will be gathered to your people, just as Aharon your brother was gathered; 14 because in the Tzin Desert, when the community was disputing with me, you rebelled against my order to uphold my holiness by means of the water, with them looking on.” (This was M’rivat-Kadesh Spring, in the Tzin Desert.)
15 Moshe said to YAHUVEH, 16 “Let YAHUVEH, ELOHIM of the spirits of all human beings, appoint a man to be over the community, 17 to go out and come in ahead of them, to lead them out and bring them in, so that YAHUVEH’s community will not be like sheep without a shepherd.”
18 YAHUVEH said to Moshe, “Take Y’hoshua the son of Nun, a spiritual man, and lay your hand on him. 19 Put him in front of El‘azar the cohen and the whole community, and commission him in their sight. 20 Delegate to him some of your authority, so that the entire community of Isra’el will obey him. 21 He is to present himself to El‘azar the cohen, who is to find out by means of the urim what YAHUVEH’s will is for Y’hoshua’s decisions. Then, at his word they will go out, and at his word they will come in, both he and all the people of Isra’el with him, the whole community.”
22 Moshe did as YAHUVEH had ordered him. He took Y’hoshua, put him before El‘azar the cohen and the whole community, 23 laid his hands on him, and commissioned him, as YAHUVEH had said through Moshe.
28 (v) YAHUVEH said to Moshe, 2 “Give an order to the people of Isra’el. Tell them, ‘You are to take care to offer me at the proper time the food presented to me as offerings made by fire, providing a fragrant aroma for me.’ 3 Tell them, ‘This is the offering made by fire that you are to bring to YAHUVEH: male lambs in their first year and without defect, two daily as a regular burnt offering. 4 Offer the one lamb in the morning and the other lamb at dusk, 5 along with two quarts of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with one quart of oil from pressed olives. 6 It is the regular burnt offering, the same as was offered on Mount Sinai to give a fragrant aroma, an offering made by fire for YAHUVEH. 7 Its drink offering is to be one-quarter hin for one lamb; in the Holy Place you are to pour out a drink offering of intoxicating liquor to YAHUVEH. 8 The other lamb you are to present at dusk; present it with the same kind of grain offering and drink offering as in the morning; it is an offering made by fire, with a fragrant aroma for YAHUVEH.
9 “‘On Shabbat offer two male lambs in their first year and without defect, with one gallon of fine flour as a grain offering, mixed with olive oil, and its drink offering. 10 This is the burnt offering for every Shabbat, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.
11 “‘At each Rosh-Hodesh of yours, you are to present a burnt offering to YAHUVEH consisting of two young bulls, one ram and seven male lambs in their first year and without defect; 12 with six quarts of fine flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering for the one ram; 13 and two quarts of fine flour mixed with olive oil as a grain offering for each lamb. This will be the burnt offering giving a fragrant aroma, an offering made by fire for YAHUVEH. 14 Their drink offerings will be two quarts of wine for a bull, one-and-one-third quarts for the ram, and one quart for each lamb. This is the burnt offering for every Rosh-Hodesh throughout the months of the year. 15 Also a male goat is to be offered as a sin offering to YAHUVEH, in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering.
(vi) 16 “‘In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, is YAHUVEH’s Pesach. 17 On the fifteenth day of the month is to be a feast. Matzah is to be eaten for seven days. 18 The first day is to be a holy convocation: do not do any kind of ordinary work; 19 but present an offering made by fire, a burnt offering, to YAHUVEH, consisting of two young bulls, one ram, and seven male lambs in their first year (they are to be without defect for you) 20 with their grain offering, fine flour mixed with olive oil. Offer six quarts for a bull, four quarts for the ram, 21 and two quarts for each of the seven lambs; 22 also a male goat as a sin offering, to make atonement for you. 23 You are to offer these in addition to the morning burnt offering, which is the regular burnt offering. 24 In this fashion you are to offer daily, for seven days, the food of the offering made by fire, making a fragrant aroma for YAHUVEH ; it is to be offered in addition to the regular burnt offering and its drink offering. 25 On the seventh day you are to have a holy convocation; do not do any kind of ordinary work.
26 “‘On the day of the firstfruits, when you bring a new grain offering to YAHUVEH in your feast of Shavu‘ot, you are to have a holy convocation; do not do any kind of ordinary work; 27 but present a burnt offering as a fragrant aroma for YAHUVEH, consisting of two young bulls, one ram, seven male lambs in their first year, 28 and their grain offering — fine flour mixed with olive oil, six quarts for each bull, four quarts for the one ram, 29 and two quarts for each of the seven lambs — 30 plus a male goat to make atonement for you. 31 You are to offer these in addition to the regular burnt offering and its grain offering (they are to be without defect for you), with their drink offerings.
29 “‘In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you are to have a holy convocation; do not do any kind of ordinary work; it is a day of blowing the shofar for you. 2 Prepare a burnt offering to make a fragrant aroma for YAHUVEH — one young bull, one ram and seven male lambs in their first year and without defect — 3 with their grain offering, consisting of fine flour mixed with olive oil — six quarts for the bull, four quarts for the ram, 4 and two quarts for each of the seven lambs — 5 also one male goat as a sin offering to make atonement for you. 6 This is to be in addition to the burnt offering for Rosh-Hodesh with its grain offering, the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings, according to the rule for them; this will be a fragrant aroma, an offering made by fire to YAHUVEH.
7 “‘On the tenth day of this seventh month you are to have a holy convocation. You are to deny yourselves, and you are not to do any kind of work; 8 but you are to present a burnt offering to YAHUVEH to make a fragrant aroma: one young bull, one ram, and seven male lambs in their first year (they are to be without defect for you), 9 with their grain offering, fine flour mixed with olive oil, six quarts for the bull, four quarts for the one ram, 10 and two quarts for each of the seven lambs; 11 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the sin offering for atonement and the regular burnt offering with its grain offering, and their drink offerings.
(vii) 12 “‘On the fifteenth day of the seventh month you are to have a holy convocation. You are not to do any kind of ordinary work, and you are to observe a feast to YAHUVEH seven days. 13 You are to present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, bringing a fragrant aroma to YAHUVEH. It is to consist of thirteen young bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year (they are to be without defect), 14 with their grain offering — fine flour mixed with olive oil, six quarts for each of the thirteen bulls, four quarts for each of the two rams, 15 and two quarts for each of the fourteen lambs; 16 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
17 “‘On the second day you are to present twelve young bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 18 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 19 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering, its grain offering and their drink offerings.
20 “‘On the third day eleven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 21 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 22 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
23 “‘On the fourth day ten bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 24 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 25 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
26 “‘On the fifth day nine bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 27 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 28 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
29 “‘On the sixth day eight bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 30 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 31 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
32 “‘On the seventh day seven bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs in their first year, without defect; 33 with the grain and drink offerings for the bulls, rams and lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 34 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain offering and drink offerings.
(Maftir) 35 “‘On the eighth day you are to have a festive assembly: you are not to do any kind of ordinary work; 36 but you are to present a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, giving a fragrant aroma to YAHUVEH — one bull, one ram, seven male lambs in their first year, without defect; 37 with the grain and drink offerings for the bull, the ram and the lambs, according to their number, in keeping with the rule; 38 also one male goat as a sin offering; in addition to the regular burnt offering with its grain and drink offerings.
39 “‘You are to offer these to YAHUVEH at your designated times in addition to your vows and voluntary offerings — whether these are your burnt offerings, grain offerings, drink offerings or peace offerings.’”
30 (29:40) Moshe told the people of Isra’el everything, just as YAHUVEH had ordered Moshe.
1 These are the words of Yirmeyahu the son of Hilkiyahu, one of the cohanim living in ‘Anatot, in the territory of Binyamin. 2 The word of YAHUVEH came to him during the days of Yoshiyahu the son of Amon, king of Y’hudah, in the thirteenth year of his reign. 3 It also came during the days of Y’hoyakim the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Y’hudah, continuing until the eleventh year of Tzidkiyahu the son of Yoshiyahu, king of Y’hudah, right up until the time Yerushalayim was carried away captive, in the fifth month.
4 Here is the word of YAHUVEH that came to me:
5 “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you;
before you were born, I separated you for myself.
I have appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”
6 I said, “Oh, YAHUVEH Elohim, I don’t even know how to speak! I’m just a child!” 7 But YAHUVEH said to me, “Don’t say, ‘I’m just a child.’
“For you will go to whomever I send you,
and you will speak whatever I order you.
8 Do not be afraid of them,
for I am with you, says YAHUVEH,
to rescue you.”
9 Then YAHUVEH put out his hand and touched my mouth, and YAHUVEH said to me,
“There! I have put my words in your mouth.
10 Today I have placed you over nations and kingdoms
to uproot and to tear down,
to destroy and to demolish,
to build and to plant.”
11 The word of YAHUVEH came to me, asking, “Yirmeyahu, what do you see?” I answered, “I see a branch from an almond tree . 12 Then YAHUVEH said to me, “You have seen well, because I am watching to fulfill my word.”
13 A second time the word of YAHUVEH came to me, asking, “What do you see?” I answered, “I see a caldron tilted away from the north, over a fire fanned by the wind.” 14 Then YAHUVEH said to me, “From the north calamity will boil over onto everyone living in the land, 15 because I will summon all the families in the kingdoms of the north,” says YAHUVEH,
“and they will come and sit, each one, on his throne
at the entrance to the gates of Yerushalayim,
opposite its walls, all the way around,
and opposite all the cities of Y’hudah.
16 I will pronounce my judgments against them
for all their wickedness in abandoning me,
offering incense to other gods
and worshipping what their own hands made.
17 “But you, dress for action; stand up and tell them
everything I order you to say.
When you confront them, don’t break down;
or I will break you down in front of them!
18 For today, you see, I have made you into
a fortified city, a pillar of iron,
a wall of bronze against the whole land —
against the kings of Y’hudah, against its princes,
against its cohanim and the people of the land.
19 They will fight against you,
but they will not overcome you,
for I am with you,” says YAHUVEH,
“to rescue you.”
2 The word of YAHUVEH came to me: 2 “Go and shout in the ears of Yerushalayim that this is what YAHUVEH says:
‘I remember your devotion when you were young;
how, as a bride, you loved me;
how you followed me through the desert,
through a land not sown.
3 “‘Isra’el is set aside for YAHUVEH,
the firstfruits of his harvest;
all who devour him will incur guilt;
evil will befall them,” says YAHUVEH.
1 Peter 3:8–4:19;
8 Finally, all of you, be one in mind and feeling; love as brothers; and be compassionate and humble-minded, 9 not repaying evil with evil or insult with insult, but, on the contrary, with blessing. For it is to this that you have been called, so that you may receive a blessing. 10 For
“Whoever wants to love life and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit,
11 turn from evil and do good,
seek peace and chase after it.
12 For YAHUVEH keeps his eyes on the righteous,
and his ears are open to their prayers;
but the face of YAHUVEH is against
those who do evil things.”
13 For who will hurt you if you become zealots for what is good? 14 But even if you do suffer for being righteous, you are blessed! Moreover, don’t fear what they fear or be disturbed, 15 but treat the Messiah as holy, as Lord in your hearts; while remaining always ready to give a reasoned answer to anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you — yet with humility and fear, 16 keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are spoken against, those who abuse the good behavior flowing from your union with the Messiah may be put to shame. 17 For if ELOHIM has in fact willed that you should suffer, it is better that you suffer for doing what is good than for doing what is evil.
18 For the Messiah himself died for sins, once and for all, a righteous person on behalf of unrighteous people, so that he might bring you to ELOHIM. He was put to death in the flesh but brought to life by the Spirit; 19 and in this form he went and made a proclamation to the imprisoned spirits, 20 to those who were disobedient long ago, in the days of Noach, when ELOHIM waited patiently during the building of the ark, in which a few people — to be specific, eight — were delivered by means of water. 21 This also prefigures what delivers us now, the water of immersion, which is not the removal of dirt from the body, but one’s pledge to keep a good conscience toward ELOHIM, through the resurrection of YAHUSHUA the Messiah. 22 He has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of ELOHIM, with angels, authorities and powers subject to him.
4 Therefore, since the Messiah suffered physically, you too are to arm yourselves with the same attitude. For whoever has suffered physically is finished with sin, 2 with the result that he lives the rest of his earthly life no longer controlled by human desires, but by ELOHIM’s will. 3 For you have spent enough time already living the way the pagans want you to live — in debauchery, lust, drunkenness, orgies, wild parties and forbidden idol-worship. 4 They think it strange that you don’t plunge with them into the same flood of dissoluteness, and so they heap insults on you. 5 But they will have to give an account to him who stands ready to judge the living and the dead. 6 This is why he was proclaimed to those who have died; it was so that, although physically they would receive the judgment common to all humanity, they might live by the Spirit in the way that ELOHIM has provided.
7 The accomplishing of the goal of all things is close at hand. Therefore, keep alert and self-controlled, so that you can pray. 8 More than anything, keep loving each other actively; because love covers many sins. 9 Welcome one another into your homes without grumbling. 10 As each one has received some spiritual gift, he should use it to serve others, like good managers of ELOHIM’s many-sided grace — 11 if someone speaks, let him speak ELOHIM’s words; if someone serves, let him do so out of strength that ELOHIM supplies; so that in everything ELOHIM may be glorified through YAHUSHUA the Messiah — to him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen.
12 Dear friends, don’t regard as strange the fiery ordeal occurring among you to test you, as if something extraordinary were happening to you. 13 Rather, to the extent that you share the fellowship of the Messiah’s sufferings, rejoice; so that you will rejoice even more when his SHKHINYAH is revealed. 14 If you are being insulted because you bear the name of the Messiah, how blessed you are! For the Spirit of the SHKHINYAH, that is, the Spirit of ELOHIM, is resting on you! 15 Let none of you suffer for being a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or a meddler in other people’s affairs. 16 But if anyone suffers for being Messianic, let him not be ashamed; but let him bring glory to ELOHIM by the way he bears this name. 17 For the time has come for the judgment to begin. It begins with the household of ELOHIM; and if it starts with us, what will the outcome be for those who are disobeying ELOHIM’s Good News? —
18 “If the righteous is barely delivered,
where will the ungodly and sinful end up?”
19 So let those who are suffering according to ELOHIM’s will entrust themselves to a faithful Creator by continuing to do what is good.
This is from Prophecy 105, YAHUVEH said to put this up on all Prophecies from now on: I warned you a long time ago Elisabeth (Elisheva) not to name this Ministry after a man or a woman even before there was a Ministry. I put it in your spirit for none of this has been done by your hand, none of this has come forth from your mouth. It is from the Mouth of YAHUVEH that has given birth. It is from the Mouth of YAHUSHUA your MASHIACH that has given birth. It is from the Mouth of the RUACH ha KODESH your IMMAYAH that has given birth. If it had only been by your hand it would have failed long ago. It is by the SHKHINYAH GLORY’S Wind that blows across this earth, the Holy Wind of Revival, it is not by your breath or it would have failed. (Isaiah 42:8)

Torah Portion: GOD Honors Zeal For HIMSELF
Prophecy 109 I, YAHUVEH, Say Thank You For Your Faithfulness
You have thanked ME for MY faithfulness MY Beloved Ones, but I Thank you for your faithfulness. For all 5 of your faithfulness, for all 5 of you have given ME your life and said, “Use it as YOU will, use it to bring YOU Glory, use it to bring YOUR SON YAHUSHUA Glory”. All 5 of you are living sacrifices unto ME. I am constantly in your thoughts. You put ME in your plans. You say, “What will YOU have me to do ABBA”, and this pleases ME. You faithfully, faithfully strive to obey and please ME in every way and reach souls for the Glory of MY SON. You faithfully worship and praise. You do not take US for granted.
And now I speak not only to you, but I speak to the faithful YDS’s (YAHUSHUA’S Demon Stompers prayer intercessors) for they do the same. This is the mark; this is the seal of those who are called the Bride of YAHUSHUA. They are faithful. They are loyal. They will not compromise. They will not back down. They will stand for what is right. They will rebuke what is wrong.
What kind of marriage would you [husbands and wives] have if you did not know one another were faithful? I do not have to be concerned that your eye would go for a false god because I know you are faithful. So you Thank ME for MY faithfulness. I Thank you for your faithfulness.
I Thank you for all the times that you make your plans and say, “I will do this or that on this day,” and I Thank you for your faithfulness even when I rip your plans up and say, “No MY Children, you’re going to do it this way.” You faithfully still give ME the praise and say, “Abba YAHUVEH have it YOUR way.” You faithfully strive to please and obey. So then MY Children I ask you this question. Why would I not want to abundantly bless you in every way? When I ask you to take the greatest step of faith, why would I not faithfully protect you, bless you as long as you’re doing it MY way?
I speak this message to all, all, all who put I, YAHUVEH, and YAHUSHUA and the Precious RUACH ha KODESH your IMMAYAH first in your life and your love. I speak to all the Bride of YAHUSHUA. Thank you for your faithfulness. Thank you for your faithfulness, that you continually rebuke satan. You will not compromise with sin. Your eyes are ever on Heaven. Thank you for your faithfulness and be assured as you are faithful unto ME, I am faithful unto you. MY eye is ever on you. MY ear is inclined to every word you speak.
And again I want to say, Thank you for your faithfulness that this Message you receive. Thank you for your faithfulness although with your physical eyes Heaven you’ve not yet seen, you still believe, for WE do reward those that diligently seek after US. WE do reward those who diligently serve US. WE do reward those who diligently obey US. There are rewards for being Holy and there are consequences for being unholy. I AM YAHUVEH, and I faithfully will take vengeance on MY enemies! Think not that they are getting away with mocking ME! This world will very shortly see what happens to a people that have forsaken and mocked ME. But MY Beloved Faithful look up, look up Bride of YAHUSHUA; look up for truly your redemption draweth nigh.
Torah Portion: YAHUVEH Honored The Women With An Inheritance
Prophecy 12 Daughters of Destiny, Come Forth!”
Beloved Daughters of Destiny, walk not in your own peace, but YAHUSHUA’s peace that passes all understanding. Walk not in your own strength but in the God you serve strength. Stay not in the boat MY Daughter but walk out on the water, with ME. What you think is impossible, I will make a way. What blocks and hinders you, I will remove. Though the waves will look like they may drown you and the wind will roar, keep your eyes on your Savior and you will not drown. You are ordained to be a water walker not a boat sitter.
Run towards Goliath like a David. David did not run away from Goliath though he mocked, threatened, though he towered over all men, David ran towards Goliath. David showed no fear for he put his confidence not in man or a king, but in the great “I AM” and I did not fail him, nor will I fail you. Fear is the opposite of Faith. Hear ME. Fear is torment I do not send. David when he was mocked and threatened did not reply what he would do but instead what his God would do.
David did not expect to slay the enemy with the five smooth stones, for they were not even sharp stones. But David knew his weapons were not going to kill Goliath, only the wrath of YAHUVEH would kill Goliath. I put MY wrath into those stones. I slew Goliath by a young shepherd boy that people mocked when he came against the enemy they said he shall surely die, he shall fail. How can a mere youth slay a giant? These words they say to MY Daughters now.
The enemy speaks forth in many ways and says you will fail. You will die if you go against this enemy. You are weak and not meant to minister in YAHUVEH’s Name. But MY Daughters of Destiny I have chosen you. I have ordained you. I have strengthened you. Men are right; if you do this in your strength and power you will fail. You could die, but you stand not in your might, strength and power. You stand in MY anointing on MY Word, in MY Name, wearing MY Holy armor, washed in MY shed Blood of Calvary. MY Daughters, I call you MY Daughters of Destiny this day. For am I not the beginning and the end? The Great “I AM” is the God of Prophecy.
The Alpha & Omega is the God of Prophecy for I have prophesied the beginning and I have prophesied the end. Who but “I AM” can do this? I will reveal MY secrets to MY Daughters as well as MY Sons. MY Daughters I have chosen you to do the same as David. The enemy will mock and taunt, he will use others to threaten and harm. You will be slandered for MY sake. When these enemies come against you fear not what to say or do, it will not be your words you will speak but MY words you speak.
MY beloved Little Ones, do not think ahead of time what you are going to do. Do not have any fear when you see the look upon their faces. They think you are to be controlled by man, and instead you are not controlled by a king of this earth, you are ruled by the King of Kings. David threw off the armor of this world and stood instead with the armor, MY armor God Almighty. Thus you shall do also. Weep not when the enemy falls. I am with you and no one can do anything I don’t allow. I love you MY beloved Daughter.
Be warned all those that rise up against MY Daughters of Prophecy. For just as surely as Goliath fell, so shall all those that cause MY Daughters of Prophecy grief. BEWARE! For I am watching, I am listening. I will judge those that judge MY Daughters for speaking forth MY words. As men protect women and I put that Spirit within them to do so, how much more will I protect MY Daughters of Prophecy? For it is prophesied in these end times I would pour out MY Spirit on MY Handmaidens and they would prophesy.
Whoever touches MY anointed and do these Prophets harm, I shall surely quickly judge, they had better repent before MY wrath kindles against them. Now I am not speaking of the false prophets for they come in the form of a man or a woman. If they be false then this must be exposed so others will not be contaminated. But dare not touch or discourage or put your man made ideas of what I would do, and who I would use on MY Daughters of Prophecy. Do not say YAHUVEH would not use these women for they don’t have the appearance they should; they have not our permission to speak.
Who are you oh men of this world to silence MY Daughters of Prophecy? I choose those who are the most not likely to be chosen. I use those that would say to ME, “Oh no YAHUVEH, you really don’t want me to speak that, or do that?” Yet, MY Daughters hear MY voice more clearly than MY Sons. I grieve for the pain MY Daughters of Prophecy will suffer for MY Name’s sake. Remember I suffered for you. Being MY Daughter of Prophecy, you will bring so many souls to ME, and have already.
Torah Portion: YAHUVEH Honors Godly Leadership
Prophecy 128 Shavu’ot Prophecy 2016 Heaven Rejoices Over Amightywind New Leadership
Woe be unto anyone that dares to try to harm—these two anointed ones. You will regret the day you ever were born. Touch not MY anointed and neither do these two Prophets any harm (see Ps 105:15; 1 Ch 16:22). It would be better for you if I, ABBA YAHUVEH, would tear out your tongue!
The battle has been raging! This is not just an ordinary ministry! Do you not think that satan knows this?—he has lost some of his top generals!—he has lost some of his top commanders-in-chief!
This is not just an announcement of a male leader—he [satan] had to fight on two different fronts: he had to fight Elisheva in ways she does not know; he had to fight those who made this miracle possible—the YDSs that put so much love and work and Anointing. And that’s why I blessed everything they touched.
But he is a ‘pri—‘1 (“prince of this world,” Jn 12:31; 14:30; 16:11)—satan is a prince and a power and the principality of the air (Eph 2:2) so the YDSs had to fight him there. And then there is the ‘Bone of My Bone’: then there’s you Ezra and you Elisheva that I prophesied so long ago—though you knew it not.
And today is a day of Victory! On this Shavu’ot (Pentecost) is a day of Victory! For the “Goliath”2 shall fall! And I speak of more than one Goliath!
Today is the Victory”! And it shall be acknowledged as such. And it is not just a celebration of one day. For as long as AmightyWind Ministry is on the Internet it shall be in remembrance of this day—for one week—you shall celebrate!
You shall give ME Honor & Glory! And all who consider this Ministry a blessing and all who bless the union that I have put together this day—before the public, before the world—I shall bless them abundantly!
The Anointing on both of you shall overflow to every Minister, every supporter, every one who says, “This Ministry is a blessing and I shall defend it, even defending it in prayer”—MY Ear is inclined to hear!
I tell you this!
Heaven rejoices! The angels rejoice! Because when you’ve done this—this day—you have hastened the time [that] YAHUSHUA HA MASHIACH shall come for HIS Bride. And the dragon gnashes his teeth in rage (Rv 12:7-9, 12) because he could not stop what’s taken place today!
It is not just a leadership, it is a love that only comes from Heaven above: ordained, appointed, chosen,3 the “fullness of the Anointing” that was prophesied4 that had never happened—until I brought Ezra by your side. So rejoice for the Victory!
Did I not warn you5 Ezra & Elisheva that there was a war in the Heavenly realm?—a war—as legions of legions of angelic warriors from Heaven had to come down and fight.6
But I tell you this. I YAHUSHUA won that battle at the Cross! This was MY battle. For this Ministry does not belong to a man or a woman. This Ministry belongs to YAHUVEH, I YAHUSHUA & IMMAYAH! This is OUR Victory. And now WE share it with thee. And millions and millions shall be reached!
You shall see and the people shall perceive the new Anointing in the Prophecies! Where the “Ringmaiden” stood alone without a male leader by her side—no longer shall prophesy in bondage, no longer shall prophesy while being abused.
Now!—she shall prophesy—in freedom! With a leader who only loves and protects, who’ll only encourage her to keep pressing forward! For both of them press forward! For more Anointing and not less.
So those who come to the Ministry this day on Shavu’ot, I tell you this.
PINCHAS -Phinehas / Dark Skinned
“Pinchas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am, I did not put an end to them in my zeal.” (Numbers 25:11)
Last week’s Parasha (Balak) concluded with a man named Pinchas ending a devastating plague that had come on Israel and already killed 24,000 Israelites. The plague resulted from the Israelites participating in sexual immorality with the Midianite women.
The death toll ended when Pinchas (the grandson of Aaron) killed the Israelite Zimri, a Simeonite leader who openly brought a Midianite princess into his tent.
Pinchas entered his tent and plunged a spear through both of them.
God Honors Zeal for Himself
In this week’s Parasha, we see that Pinchas’ action not only brings salvation to his people by ending the plague, he also obtains a great reward for himself from God.
YAHUVEH honors Pinchas with both the priesthood and an eternal covenant of shalom /peace. (Numbers 25:12–13)
It seems unthinkable that such an act of violence could bring about a covenant of peace with YAHUVEH, but that is what happened.
What might we learn from Pinchas? Certainly, it is not that YAHUVEH honors violence. But what was HE honoring?
YAHUVEH was honoring zeal for HIMSELF.
Pinchas has been compared by the jews to Elijah, who also walked in Godly zeal and passion for the YAH. He boldly confronted the false prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel to prove that YAHUVEH is ELOHIM.
YAHUVEH also honored Elijah’s zeal by promising to send him to usher in our Messianic redemption, as it is written:
“I am sending you the prophet Elijah before the coming of the great and awesome day of YAHUVEH.” (Malachi 4:5)
YAH Honors Those Who Honor Him
After the devastation of this plague, YAHUVEH commanded that a census be taken.
Like a shepherd whose flocks have been depleted by an attack of wolves, when the catastrophe is over, the shepherd lovingly counts his sheep to determine how many are left alive.
As well, the census would help prepare each tribe to receive their fair share of inheritance once they enter their promised land.
The census revealed that some clans survived even though YAH’s wrath had consumed their ancestors. For instance, the ancestors of Korach, the Levite who led a rebellion of 250 chieftains against Moses and tried to take over the priesthood, survived.
Korach, his home, and the men with him were consumed by an earthquake and fire, yet the Scriptures say that “the sons of Korach died not.”
(Numbers 26:11; see also Numbers 16:32)
These sons became the founders of a guild of psalmists whose writings are still with us today, filling a portion of the book of Psalms (Tehillim). It is generally believed that Psalms 42, 44–49, 84–85, 87–88 were written by these sons.
Their praises were not just written, they were shouted. In preparation for warfare, they “stood up and praised YAHUVEH, the GOD of Israel, with a very loud voice.” (2 Chronicles 20:19)
Like Korach’s descendants, we are not destined to follow in the footsteps of our bloodline. We can choose to rise above our backgrounds — even the sin or rebellion of our own parents — to become devoted followers of YAH.
YAHUVEH Honored the Women with an Inheritance
As Moses prepared to divide up the land, the daughters of Zelophehad asked for their inheritance, as their father had died without sons. YAHUVEH loves men and women equally and, therefore, decreed justice for the daughters by granting them their father’s land (Numbers 27:1–11).
Women — even single women — can inherit what is rightfully theirs.
In a spiritual sense, YAHUVEH is our portion — HE is a YAH of justice and will give us our inheritance if we boldly ask for it and believe that we deserve it.
But what if the daughters of Zelophehad didn’t think they were worthy — or that because everyone else who received an inheritance were men, that they shouldn’t even ask? They would not have received their portion of the Land that was due to them.
Let us not be timid, but bold in carrying out YAH’s invitation to ask for what we desire and trust HIM to bring it to pass in HIS way and HIS time, if it is HIS will.
We will not know if it is HIS will unless we ask. YAHUSHUA invites us to ask for what we desire, in HIS name: “Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.” (John 16:24)
We see from YAH’s attention to these women’s request that there is nothing so small or big that YAHUVEH does not care about if it is something that concerns us.
HE cares not just for the nation of Israel as a whole, but also for each and every individual within HIS Kingdom: “HE will fulfill the desire of those who fear HIM.” (Psalm 145:19)
In his last days, Moses also had a desire — he asked YAHUVEH to appoint a new shepherd for his sheep.
YAHUVEH Honors Godly Leadership
“YAHUVEH said to Moses, Take you Joshua (Yahushua) the son of Nun, a man in whom is the spirit, and lay [samach] your hand on him; And set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation; and give him a charge in their sight. And you shall put some of your honor on him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may be obedient.” (Numbers 27:18–20)
In this portion of Scripture, YAH delivered news that must have been a devastating blow to Moses. He was told that although he would be allowed to see the Promised Land, he would never be allowed to enter.
Even when Moses knew he would not be the one taking them into the Land, he still showed concern for the flock by asking YAH to appoint a man over the assembly.
YAHUVEH asked Moses to transfer his authority of leadership to Joshua (Yahushua) by the laying on of hands. This is a physical act to symbolize the transference of authority.
In Hebrew, the word for lay is samach, from which is derived the noun smichah, the act of ordination.
The related word samchut means authority. The root of this Hebrew word s-m-ch means to trust, to support, or to rely on.
Being anointed for leadership over a group of people is a sacred trust that we may not take lightly.
We all need Godly leadership; we were created to be governed — to come under samchut –authority. Without a shepherd, we are scattered and helpless sheep, exposed to attack on all sides.
Even though YAHUVEH is the ultimate authority, and YAHUSHUA is our Great Shepherd, HE will also ordain leaders to help guide and support us in our walk with HIM, as did the great Biblical leadership of Moses and later Joshua.
Moses anointed Joshua, whose name Yahushua means the Lord saves, to lead the people of Israel into their Promised Land.
YAHUVEH anointed Yahshua (shortened form of Yahushua) to lead His followers into the promised Messianic Era.
Let us pray for the leaders of our nations and especially for the leadership of Israel to govern us with Godly wisdom and integrity in these last days. Let us also pray for the return of YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH.
YAHUVEH Honors Israel
Between the 17th of Tammuz and the 9th of Av on the Jewish calendar (June 30 and July 22), the Jewish People are observing a period of three weeks to pause and reflect on why so many tragedies have come upon us throughout our history.
We are also to consider our own personal behavior, attitudes, and relationship with YAHUVEH.
On each Sabbath that falls during these three weeks, we read special prophetic portions called Haftarot of Admonition, which are meant to disturb our false sense of peace.
In fact, the word translated as admonition is d’puranuta, which means to disturb.
It is often easy to think that we are living in peace here in the Holy Land. Children play in the streets and most of us dwell in cities without walls and fortifications.
Then a siren blasts, a rocket explodes; our sense of peace is shaken, and we must face the reality of living in a land set apart by YAHUVEH HIMSELF.
In this week’s Haftarah (Jeremiah 1:1–2:3), Israel is compared to the first fruits that were set apart as holy (kadosh), to be offered up to YAHUVEH.
“Israel is the YAHUVEH’s hallowed (kadosh—קדש) portion, His first-fruits of the increase. All that devour him shall be held guilty, evil shall come upon them, says YAHUVEH.” (Jeremiah 2:3)
It is clear that YAHUVEH opposes any person, nation, or force that seeks to destroy Israel.
Today, and throughout history, there is certainly a desire to see Israel — YAHUVEH’s holy portion — destroyed through war, terror attacks and slanderous accusations of war crimes, blood libel, human rights violations, and apartheid.
However, the Word out of Zion is this: those who seek to attack Israel are admonished to cease and desist while there is still time before even greater evil comes upon them.
“‘For I am with you,’ says YAHUVEH, ‘to save you; though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a complete end of you.’” (Jeremiah 30:11)
YAHUVEH Honors Truth in Action
We must not think we are too weak or too timid or too young or too old — or whatever excuse we use — to fulfill our mission in YAH’s plan. If YAH is in it, HE will give the strength, grace, wisdom, and boldness to do HIS will.
Pinchas, for instance, was not yet an elder in the community, yet he was the only one who took action against the sin that was destroying his own people.
Others had witnessed the open sin in the community, but they apparently did nothing.
When we stand by and wait for our leaders or friends to confront sin or the slanderous attacks against Israel in front of us, the sin or the lie just grows and infects more people. As it is said — a little leaven leavens the whole lump.
While YAH is not calling us to respond with spears in the backs of sinners or our enemies, we are also not to remain silent and passive.
Sometimes YAH is calling us to help correct a problem by speaking life into the situation — speaking truth, writing truth, living lives filled with truth is a powerful weapon against sin, especially lies.
As well, speaking blessings and words of life over those who are courageously speaking truth can bring anointing and power to them that they may not have had access to before. It builds them up in strength and helps them to persevere in the storm that comes to all who stand for righteousness.
You may be slandered for speaking life, but “even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear their threats; do not be frightened. But in your hearts revere Messiah as LORD. … For it is better, if it is YAH’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.” (1 Peter 3:14–15, 17)
In addition to speaking the truth about Israel, we can speak the truth that brings eternal life by sharing the truth about who YAHUSHUA ha MASHIACH is with those who do not yet know HIM.
“Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in the Messiah may be ashamed of their slander.”
(1 Peter 3:15–16)
“Hear the word of YAHUVEH, you nations; proclaim it in distant coastlands: ‘HE who scattered Israel will gather them and will watch over HIS flock like a shepherd.'” (Jeremiah 31:10)
“YOU will again have compassion on us; YOU will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea.” (Micah 7:19)
SHABBAT SHALOM FROM AMIGHTYWIND
